FAQ

How many passengers does the Capitol Pedaler hold?

There is room for up to 14; 10 pedaling seats have pedals and 4 do not.

What is the minimum number of passengers?

You can get it going with 2 or 3 pedalers, but we wouldn’t recommend it. Ideally you want at least 7-8 people.

Is there an age limit?

Yes, people under 12 cannot pedal the bike.  Those under 15 will need parent/guardian within the group of pedalers and wear a helmet.

How much does a Ride cost?

Approximately $21-$25 per seat; however you can book the entire bike for your group outing.

How long is a Ride?

The standard Ride is a 2-hour minimum and we ask that you arrive at the scheduled start time to fill out forms and have seats adjusted.  The time of your Ride is the scheduled time with the 1/2 hour built in.

Can we do a longer Ride?

Special arrangements can be made for a custom Ride/Event that is longer or covers a different area.

How does the Pedaler operate?

It operates on pedal-power alone and is driven by a Capitol Pedaler employee.

How fast does it go?

Typically 5-7 mph, but has been clocked faster going downhill!

Does the Pedaler do pubcrawls?

Oh yes! The taverns love us!  The Pedaler will stop at 2 locations during the Ride.  The locations will be decided ahead of time with your group’s organizer.

Can we bring food and decorations?

Absolutely!  The more the merrier.

Can we bring beverages?

Non-alcoholic beverages are welcome. However, due to state law, no ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are allowed on-board.

Can we have music?

We have a stereo which is ipod/mp3 capable and you can bring your own playlist!

Do we have to have helmets?

Although you are not required to wear one, we will have bike helmets available for all riders.

(Some ages will be required to wear a helmet.)

How do we book a Ride?

We take major credit cards and have an online booking system right on our website.  Just look for the button.  If you have questions about scheduling please call: 608-513-3882

Is there height/weight limit?

The seats are adjustable to a 5′ person for a pedaling seat or anyone can sit on the back bench!  300# is the weight limit.  The Ride itself is over a 2 mile stretch with a hill at the Capitol Square.  Any additional persons or extra weight will make the pedaling uphill more of a workout!

What are the hours?

6p-11p Monday-Friday; 12a-11p Saturdays and Sundays.

Hours may vary for special events.

Where do we meet?

We will start and stop at the same location.

Can a business use the Pedaler for an event?

Yes, we have promoted businesses in parades, Badger Game Days, special corporate events and in community events.

What laws restrict the Pedaler?

The Pedaler is in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations; including vehicular rules of the road. If you’d like the details on specific issues, feel free to email us: info@capitolpedaler.com

Any other restrictions?

Each rider must sign a liability waiver before boarding.*

(Those riders under 15 will also require a parent/guardian on board.)
