Why Madison? Why Not!
Sure, we could have set up shop in a warmer climate where our Pedaler could have enjoyed the fans 365 days a year. But then, why wouldn’t you set up shop here where you have State Street shops, the Capitol, the Badger fans, the alumni, the Farmer’s Market, all the craft beers and the fantastic biking community that is Madison.
The Wisconsin Bike Federation has guest posts that reiterate this element of Madison, by Kierstin Kloeckner:
” Fast forward 20 years and almost as many moves around the country. My husband and I now call Madison, Wisconsin home. We fell into it while searching for the fabled “Utopia”—which Madison can feel like 4-6 months out of the year. I’ve been lucky enough to tour throughout the state, ride the driftless region almost daily in the summer, put on an all-women’s urban bike event, embrace winter with the group Madison Bike Winter, work WI Bicycle Federation events and coach with USA Cycling. Although I’m not currently racing, I still try to set yearly goals. 2012 holds a two day trans Wisconsin ride, RiverWest 24 in Milwaukee, a few centuries and plenty of urban spinning.
There are times you have to pry me from my bike, like when I’m working (as a trainer/coach at Harbor Athletic Club), but I also enjoy gardening, cooking and just tipping back a few local brews with friends.
I want to thank the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin for giving me a chance to contribute to this blog and allow me to tap into my non-physical and creative side. My hope is that my writing sparks other people to get out and play on two wheels!

You can also play on four wheels with the Pedaler and a dozen of your friends or family. We have cupholders, a canopy roof, music, trolley bell and fun-loving drivers!
